Cuzco Peru

Located in southern Peru and surrounded by six mountains, Cuzco is a city with perhaps the most beautiful views in the world. It's also considered one of the highest cities of the world, as well as being the oldest city in the western hemisphere.

Cuzco is the cradle of the Incan civilization. The past and the present co-exist here, as it preserves within its breathtaking landscape, the historical monuments and the Incan relics and of myths and legends. It's the archaeological capital of Peru and the neuralgic center of the Inca Empire.

Visitors to Cuzco will see magnificent temples and pre-Colombian monuments such as the Korikancha (Temple of the Sun), the Ajlla Wasi, the Amaru Cancha (fence of the serpent), the Kiswar Kancha and more along with gems of the "mestizaje" (mix of the Spanish and the native) such as the Cathedral, the Church and Convent of La Merced as well as the Temple of San Blas.

Cuzco's fantastic blend of the old and the new fascinates the first time visitors. It's strange but it's interesting. Walk through the Plaza de Armas and relish its Incan past. Once the center of the Incan Empire, it was twice as large as it is now. Also, visit the church of La Compania and admire its intricate interiors and a fine collection of art that flourished from 16th through the 18th century.
